Privacy Policy
Igunbor Family — igunbor.com and the Igunbor Family app
Effective October 31, 2026
Who we are
Igunbor Family is a private online home for one family, run by Joseph Igunbor. It is not a public social network. Accounts are created by invitation only, and everything members share is visible only to the family's invited members, except for the few things a member personally chooses to publish on their own public page. Questions about this policy: joseph@igunbor.com.
What we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Profile basics — a profile picture you pick from your own uploads, your birthday, and your city and state. Your birth date itself is never shown to other members: during your birthday week the family sees only a birthday badge on your picture. Your city and state appear in the family directory.
- Content you share — photos and videos you upload, captions, comments, reactions, stories, messages (family chat and direct messages), events, trips, recipes, family-tree details you add, and the personal page you build.
- Access requests — if you are not a member yet, the request-access form collects your name and email address so the family administrator can review your request.
- Account connections — if you connect another account (such as Outlook, Instagram, or Facebook) to your page in Settings, we store that account's display name and the authorization needed to show what you chose to share. Connecting an account never lets us post as you.
- Basic technical information — the device and browser details needed to serve the site and app, an essential session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and, if you turn notifications on, a push subscription for your browser or device.
Signing in with Google, Apple, or Facebook
The sign-in page offers optional social sign-in buttons. If you use one, the provider confirms who you are and shares your name and the email address it has verified for you; we match that verified email to your family account. Facebook shares your name and, when your Facebook account has an email address and you allow it, that email. We never see your Google, Apple, or Facebook password, and signing in never posts anything to those accounts.
Instagram sign-in is not currently available — it is waiting on Meta's approval. If it opens, Instagram would share only your username and account ID (Instagram does not provide an email address), so we would ask you for an email ourselves to finish joining, because a family account needs one for password resets.
How we use it
Only to run the family space: showing your photos and posts to the family, delivering messages and notifications, keeping accounts secure, and fixing problems. We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your information for third-party marketing or cross-app tracking.
Who can see your content
- Family content is visible only to signed-in, invited members of this family.
- If you choose to publish your personal page, that page — and only what you put on it — is public at your own address (for example, yourname.igunbor.com).
- The public homepage shows a small amount of family-approved material, such as photos a member has explicitly shared to the homepage.
Services that help us run it
We use a small number of processors strictly to operate the service: our web host (HostGator) runs the site; Supabase stores photo and video files; Microsoft 365 and Resend deliver email such as invitations, password-reset links, and notifications; Google, Apple, and Meta provide the optional sign-in buttons described above; and Apple and Google deliver push notifications on devices that enable them. These providers process information only to provide their part of the service.
Your controls
You can edit or remove your own photos, posts, and profile details at any time, reset your password yourself from the sign-in page if you forget it, and remove account connections in Settings.
Deleting your account and data
- Members: sign in, open Settings, and use the Delete my account card. You will be asked to type DELETE and enter your password. Deletion is immediate: you are signed out everywhere, your sign-in is removed, your name, email address, password, profile picture, birthday, city and state, and account connections are erased, and you leave the family directory. Photos and posts you already shared stay with the family, re-labelled as shared by a “Former member”, unless the family administrator removes them — email us at the address above and we will remove those too. The family owner cannot delete their own account this way; the owner can transfer ownership or close the family first — contact us and we will help.
- Not a member? If you used a social sign-in button or sent an access request but never joined, the only records are that pending request and any one-time connect link we emailed you. Email joseph@igunbor.com and we will delete them.
- Backups: copies held in backups are overwritten as backups rotate, so deleted information disappears from backups in the ordinary course of rotation.
Children
This is a private family service. Accounts are created only by invitation from the family administrator, and any child's account is created and supervised by their parent or guardian in the family.
Security
The site and app use encrypted (HTTPS) connections, hashed passwords, and sign-in protections. Member sessions last up to 30 days on a device. The app never stores your site password on the device; optional Face ID sign-in simply unlocks the app on a device where you are already signed in.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
